Rooting for me, for you - at fanfaluca in Aarau

‘rooting for me, for you’ is a poetic dance solo choreographed by Audrey Wagner for the dancer Alina Aegerter, which conceives of self-care as an act of resistance against social structures that exploit women* in particular. The dancer uses the earth as a central symbol of rootedness, nourishment and strength. The solo allows the audience to experience self-care as a search for one’s own place, as a sense of being rooted, and as a joyful striving upwards. It is a quiet yet powerful plea for self-empowerment. The piece lasts approximately 12 minutes.
